Hey hookedonhorses!!

I just saw your post called "Which college?" in the community ridingincollege. I was wondering if you are still looking for a college, and if you are then you are in luck!

I go to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri (www.stephens.edu). We have an AWESOME Equestrian Department. We have three main majors: Equestrian Science, Equestrian Business Management, and a 3:2 program with a BS in Equine Science from Stephens and a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri (for those who want to do therapeutic riding for the disabled). It is possible to bring your horse, but we only have 10 available stalls for boarders each year; I'm not sure about the boarding fee, but I can get you that information.

Our Equestrian Center occupies 16 acres, with an indoor arena, a lighted outdoor arena, seven turn-out paddocks, stables and a cross-country course. The barns are only a couple blocks from the dorms (most of us walk down together for classes.) I personally ride Western and it is GREAT! We compete at many local, regional, and national shows each semester, and you are required to ride in at least one show or clinic per semester.

We care for about 60 horses total now. We have classes in Western, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Saddleseat, and Combined Training so you can learn in a diversified atmosphere that covers all the riding disciplines.

At Stephens, you get the chance to ride many different breeds: Saddlebreds, Arabians, Morgans, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Quarterhorses and National Show horses.

If you want to know more, here is the Equestrian Department's website:
